Pangolin

Characterised by their impressive scaly-skinned armour, Pangolins are unique and elusive creatures. When threatened, a pangolin will protect itself by rolling up into a ball and using the scales on its tail to attack predators.

These endangered ant-eating mammals live in a range of habits, from tropical forests to the grasslands and savannahs of Africa and Asia. Pangolins are now one of the most threatened mammals in the world, with an estimated one million trafficked in the last 10 years.
