Host A Toddler Tea Party For The King's Coronation
On Saturday 6th May 2023, the coronation of His Majesty The King will take place at the grand Westminster Abbey. People all over the globe will be tuning in to watch King Charles take the crown, with events from street parties to local fetes celebrating the occasion. If you’re looking for ways to get the kids involved and celebrate as a family, follow our guide on how to throw a pretend play children’s tea party…
Kids Tea Party Ideas For The Coronation
These four simple steps will guide you through how to throw a royal role-play tea party for your little princes and princesses.
Step 1: Craft Your Own Royal Decorations
To give the tea party a regal vibe, dress your table with some handcrafted coronation-inspired decorations. You could create your own Kings Coronation bunting! All you’ll need is paper, scissors, string and some quality Marker Pens to draw and colour in a few Union Jacks. You could pick up a pack of Tiger Tribe’s Gemstone Sparkle Glitter Goo and design paper crowns for every guest, or deck out your own paper tablecloth with lots of colourful illustrations (think thrones, castles, royal guards and so on!).
Step 2: Set The Table
Lay down your homemade tablecloth and prepare each place setting with a wooden plate, cup and cutlery from our Children’s Dinner Set. It comes with enough pieces for four guests, so your pocket-sized host can invite the family along, share the occasion with friends, or make it a teddy bear tea party! What’s more, the red and blue colours of the set make it perfect for a British celebration.
Step 3: Dish Out The Food
Let them eat cake (don’t worry, these wooden play food sets are sugar-free)! Kiddies can serve up some mouth-watering sweet treats on this charming two-tiered Wooden Cake Stand, which comes with a slice of Victoria Sponge, Battenburg, a cupcake, doughnut and more. Then wash it down with a brew! This 17-piece eco-friendly Toy Tea Set from Green Toys is made from 100% recycled plastic, or you could go for our wooden Kids Tea Set and pair it with these adorable Wooden Tea Bags.
Step 4: Dress For The Occasion
Get into the spirit of the coronation and dress your littlen in their very own Princess Costume. Our Princess Dress Up comes with a pink dress, a magic star wand and a yellow felt crown with customisable pieces so they can make it their own. The set also includes a wooden mirror, comb and pink bow hair tie.
