1. Snakes and Ladders
Played by thousands of families worldwide, Snakes and Ladders is a traditional board game kids love! Up to four players must race each other across the squares and up the ladders to the top of the board, avoiding sliding down the sneaky snakes as they go. The first player to get to 100 wins! For the full Snakes and Ladders rules, read our quick How To Play Snakes and Ladders guide.
A Bigjigs bestseller, our Snakes and Ladders board game has everything young players need for hours of fun and competitive play, including a dice, four bright counters, and of course the colourful Snakes and Ladders board.
This classic kids board game is made from premium quality, sustainably sourced FSC® Certified wood (FSC-C147826) and is ideal for helping children develop their social skills and numeracy skills.
2. Draughts & Chess
Bag two games in one with this beautiful wooden Kids Chess Set. Our draughts and chess board game is great for developing children's problem-solving and strategy skills.
Chess is a board game for two players and one of the world's most popular games. Players take it in turns to move one of their chess pieces to a different board square. The aim of the game is for each player to checkmate their opponent's King!
Draughts, or checkers as it's also known, requires players to use their 12 counters to move across the squares. The goal is to obtain all of your opponent's pieces or block them so they can't be moved.
Our Draughts & Chess Set for kids comes with black and white chess pieces as well as black and white draughts counters. Made from premium quality, sustainably sourced FSC® Certified wood.
3. Ludo
Ludo is a historical wooden game that was first created in the Victorian era and is based on the Indian game of Pachisi. To play Ludo, each player must race their four tokens from start to finish in accordance with the roll of a single dice.
Kiddies and grown-ups will love the excitement of racing against each other to do a full lap of the board with all four playing pieces. Our Ludo board comes with chunky wooden pieces that are the perfect size for little fingers to lift, grasp, and replace.
Youngsters will learn how to take turns, problem solve, and develop strategic thinking skills. Includes four green counters, four red counters, four blue counters, four yellow counters, and a dice. Made from premium quality, sustainably sourced FSC® Certified wood.
4. Animal Shut The Box
Our Animal Shut The Box is a classic game with a contemporary twist! Race your opponent to flip down each of the jungle animals on your side of the board. Take it in turns to spin the dial and try to land on all eight of the animals. The first player to flip down all of their animals is the winner!
Shut The Box helps little rascals learn how to take turns, build up basic numeracy understanding, and develop social skills. Made from high-quality, responsibly sourced wood.
5. Solitaire
Our popular Marble Solitaire can be found in many family games cupboards! This charming wooden Solitaire game comes with blue marbles on a circular board. A game for one player, the board has lots of wooden holes for the marbles to be placed. When not in use, the grooved perimeter easily stores the marbles away.
To play, all the marbles must be outside the field, with the middle board hole left empty. Each marble needs to jump over another until there's one marble left. If there's more than one marble left, the player loses.
Develops the strategic mind and nurtures children's cognitive skills as they work out how to get their marbles to the centre. Made from premium quality, sustainably sourced FSC® Certified wood.
New To Our Wooden Board Games Range
This year, we launched a one-of-a-kind wooden board game that little nature fans have been buzzing to play! Bee Balanced is a stacking toy and two-player board game in one. The aim is to keep the board balanced while stacking as many flowers on your side as you can, then using the bumble bee to block your opponent.
