What a year it’s been! From welcoming Toyi and The House of Puzzles into the Bigjigs Family to winning multiple awards, 2024 has been a whirlwind of exciting launches, achievements, and growth. As we reflect on this extraordinary year, we’d like to thank you - our fabulous customers, partners, and friends - for supporting us every step of the way. Now, let’s take a look back at Bigjigs’ best bits of 2024…
January
London Toy Fair
To kick off the year, we returned to the illustrious London Toy Fair to unveil our new product range for 2024. This was a great chance for us to showcase our latest innovations, catch up with existing customers, and build new relationships. Highlights from the 2024 range included our new Simply Scandi Kitchen, Ride On Sheep and Cow, and Bigjigs Rail’s Fun Fair and Wild West sets.

New Simply Scandi toys
February saw the expansion of our award-winning Simply Scandi range with the launch of 20+ toys and games. From unique stackers to chunky puzzles and sensory toys, these new products are all sustainably made from FSC® Certified wood and food-grade silicone. Keep an eye out for more Simply Scandi toys coming in 2025!

Breaking gender stereotypes
To mark International Women’s Day, we shared some hints and tips on how to break gender stereotypes through toys. Give the blog article a read to find out more about gender-neutral play and explore some of our favourite inspirational toys for girls, from tool kits and ride-on cars to a Scientist Dress Up set.

Bigjigs Rail launches new themes
This year, we introduced two new train themes to the Bigjigs Rail collection: Wild West and Fun Fair! Each train set comes packed with play pieces, from a cowboy ranch to a helter-skelter bridge, creating a canvas for imaginative storytelling. Kids can tailor these sets with new themed accessories, including a Wild West Saloon with swinging doors and an interactive Ferris Wheel Tunnel.

BlogOn Awards winner
In summer, we became a BlogOn Awards winner! We secured silver in the baby & toddler category for our FSC® Certified Animal Activity Table and bronze in the preschool category for our Triangular Activity Centre. We also scooped up two more BlogOn Awards this winter, winning bronze in the sensory category for NeeDoh Dream Drop and bronze in the educational category for our 1-10 Counting Board.

Welcoming Toyi to the Bigjigs Family
Toyi’s mission to spark creativity, learning, and accessible play fit perfectly with our values, so we were thrilled to welcome this revolutionary brand into the Bigjigs Toys family earlier this year. Using Toyi’s inventive junk modelling sets, kids can turn trash into treasured toys and everyday items into one-of-a-kind creations!

Bigjigs Toys acquires The House of Puzzles
July was an especially exciting month as we announced our acquisition of The House of Puzzles! This momentous move marked the beginning of a new era for Bigjigs Toys, launching us into the cardboard jigsaw market with a fantastic product portfolio of 350+ puzzles for adults and children. Look out for our first-ever Contemporary Range coming in the new year…

Green Parent Toy Awards
In August, we were announced as winners of Best Toy Brand in the Green Parent Toy Awards! This recognition highlights our dedication to crafting premium quality, sustainably made toys that stand the test of time. Our eco-friendly credentials, including our commitment to FSC® Certified materials and the use of recycled packaging, helped us stand out to secure this amazing achievement.

Progressive Preschool Awards finalist
Another exciting accolade! September saw Bigjigs Toys become a Progressive Preschool Awards finalist for three awards. We reached the finalist stage for our Fun Fair Train Set, Rolling Sensory Sorter, and Toyi Inventions STEAM Building Kit, celebrating our focus on innovation, quality, and educational play.

Hitting 1000 TikTok followers
In October, we reached the spectacular social media milestone of reaching 1000 followers on TikTok! We were thrilled to see our playful content resonate with more users, and can’t wait to keep sharing inspiring products and fun behind-the-scenes moments that help bring Bigjigs Toys to life.

Big Black Friday savings
Our biggest sale of the year returned for Black Friday. This time around, we offered customers up to 75% off a wonderful range of products, including train sets, stacking toys, doll houses, arts and crafts, play food, puzzles, and more.
December
Bigjigs Christmas celebrations
Throughout December, Bigjigs Toys celebrated the Christmas season with a month of festive activities for our warehouse and head office staff. We wined and dined at the Bigjigs Christmas party, raised money for The Young Lives Foundation on Christmas Jumper Day, and invited little ones to meet Santa at the Bigjigs Christmas Grotto. A merry time was had by all!
